Not my typical type of work, but the commission was for a great woman. Plus! It's the holidays and it's the time of year that you adjust and budge a bit for the happiness of others! (Yes, I love Christmas this much - and drawing - anything in the name of Christmas and Drawing.)

Are You Insane?

So some of you are fortunate enough to know my good friend Wai, but for those of you who don't - Get Ready too! I've constructed a small but majorly fun project for myself where I'm going to paint my friend in his various robot poses. Along side him will be some of my favourite quotes he shouts while doing the robot.

There is no deadline for this project of mine and no expiry on our friendship - so expect to see a lot of this character as time goes on!

"The Affair"

An amazing pastry chef and friend commissioned me to paint this latest piece of mine! It's all too good, when you find a friend who wants a triptych painting containing a Squid and a Mermaid. Those were her only "demands" and the rest was up to me! Sorry though Anna, an attractive mermaid is not a mermaid painted by me.

2 New Paintings! (Process)

So I just finished a pretty big job that was digitally done and labour intensive! I had a great time working on it but I was dying to loosen up and try out some other concepts of mine!

I started two new paintings for fun and experience.

The first is a portrait I hope to make look a lot more interesting and the second is of 2 pink things that don't have reflections yet.

Although these two works aren't good representations of what I'm about to say, I really want to make my work have more of an emotional connection with the viewer. Most great works of art contain mood and feeling and I need to start learning how to wield these two unteachable principals. I want to learn how to make people feel.

Long Time!

So it's been quite awhile since I last posted anything on this blog and I thought at 5:38 in the morning, that it'd be a good idea too. I've been really busy lately, doing random creations like painting a 10 foot long, long board with my good friend David! And getting things in line for the next step(s) to my website! Good things are coming! And updates will follow with this page too! - *on a side note for this blog: it has now become "ill droppings", and will be a wild card for my stuff that really has no place anywhere but has to be created!

And! I just put my ink drawing, "Cautious Cock" up on Threadless for voting! As of right now, it only has 5 more days to be voted on. Which is funny because "5" is the number you want to vote on, if you want it to be made into a t-shirt! If you voted for me, it'd be fun like a useless thing you write in the back of your best friend's yearbook.

A good person said "fruit mania" to me the other day and it made me think of this. (I'm still laughing at those two words. lol)

Kyeryong

A neat drawing I did for Sequential Narrative class! It belongs to a Korean fable I illustrated but this was one of my favourite images. It's of a Kyeryong. (A Korean mystical creature, that's half chicken and half dragon! - only Koreans could think of that shit.)

Morning Fun!

When I was in between sleep and reality this morning, I gave a lot of thought to "The Brave Little Toaster" - which was one of my favourite movies from when I was little. I then started to think about those funny animated lobby items walking across a drive in movie screen. With those two thoughts combined, I came up with these small canvases.
